We have been travelling around the World together since 2008, working in kitchens at eco-retreats, sustainable farms and yoga retreats and picking up amazing vegetarian recipes and inspiration along the way. The culinary traditions of Mexico, Spain, India and Greece in particular flavour our menus. However, we love to cook all kinds of food and are always looking for new recipes.
We both love to practice yoga and were fortunate enough to work two full Summer seasons at the fantastic Yoga Rocks Retreat Centre in Crete in 2011 and 2012 where we ran the kitchen and created daily menus from the delicious fresh food available on the island. We also got married there! We still go back regularly for guest stints every Summer.
Dan has been working in various kitchens since he was 16 and is now a qualified diet and nutrition advisor and runs the Yoga Kitchen as a vegetarian catering business in Glasgow catering for yoga workshops, retreats and teacher trainings. He also works as a Webmaster and runs several yoga related websites.
Melissa has been a dedicated yoga practitioner since discovering it whilst on retreat in Mexico in 2008. She has been qualified yoga and meditation teacher since April 2010 when she took her Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India. As well as cooking for the Yoga Kitchen, she is now a Senior Yoga Teacher teaching several yoga classes in Glasgow and various workshops and retreats.
